The Island Private School of Limassol in Cyprus opened in September 2022. Now we are in the process of planning our new school campus on a beautiful 50,000 m2 site to be completed approximately by end of 2025, that will include kindergartens, elementary and high schools, an international boarding school, and accommodation for teachers. This is a great opportunity to join a growing school on the cusp of a major turning point.

Currently we are seeking a versatile and passionate Primary School Cover Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide short-term cover across three diverse educational programs: International Baccalaureate (IB), Waldorf, and Montessori. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a deep respect for each program's unique teaching philosophy. As a cover teacher, you will maintain a nurturing and supportive learning environment for students and ensure continuity of education during the absence of the regular class teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide high-quality classroom cover for primary classes across IB, Waldorf, and Montessori programs;

- Adapt to the specific teaching styles and methodologies of each program while delivering lessons and managing classroom activities;

- Follow lesson plans provided by the absent teacher and ensure smooth continuity of the curriculum;

- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that fosters each child’s holistic development;

- Encourage student engagement and participation, adapting teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of students;

- Collaborate with the lead teachers and program coordinators to understand each program's expectations and objectives;

- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to provide updates on progress and any relevant information following cover periods;

- Ensure classroom behaviour management aligns with the policies of each program;

- Execute assigned duties of supervising students outside of the lessons (e.g. playground, canteen, etc.);

- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and training related to IB, Waldorf, and Montessori approaches.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Bachelor degree in Primary education;

Fluent English;

- Prior experience in a primary school setting;

- Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to different educational philosophies;

- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment;

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

- Ability to work collaboratively and independently;
