Household manager/childcare partner
We are a busy family in Limassol seeking a unique individual to join us long-term. This is not a typical position; we are looking for a serious commitment from someone who can build a lasting relationship with our child. If you are not currently in Cyprus, you must have your own agent to facilitate the hire. To apply complete the application by clicking here: https://forms.gle/9hYyNXyTDNZV9dnP9
We want someone to help manage our home. WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR A HELPER. This role is ideal for someone seeking a flexible schedule, loves children, has experience, and brings energy.
Key Qualifications:
Childcare experience is essential.
Ability to manage your time effectively without micromanagement. You should take the initiative in daily tasks related to the child and basic home maintenance.
Strong references from previous employers.
Comfort with flexibility as both parents are busy business owners with inconsistent schedules. When available, we prioritize family time, but you’ll often be responsible for caring for our child.
About Our Child:
Our daughter is 3 years old, attending school Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. She has dance classes on Tuesdays and Fridays until 5:00 PM and soccer on Saturday mornings, returning home around 10 AM. In the evenings and some weekends, she is our priority.
Duties Include:
Keep the home tidy (a cleaner handles deep cleaning).
Prepare dinners 4-5 nights a week; you can choose to eat with us or prepare your own meals.
Manage the child's laundry, linens, and towels.
Track house supplies and groceries, communicating needs to us.
Maintain attention to detail and effective communication. This role is not for someone who is shy or lacks initiative.
Grocery and Supplies Management:
Maintain an updated shopping list and check supplies regularly.
Join shopping trips and pick up personal items as needed.
Be mindful of family meals and communicate when supplies are running low. We often have leftover days to clear the fridge.
Priorities:
The child.
The home, which should remain tidy.
You will work closely with a personal assistant and should be able to manage your responsibilities independently. This includes ensuring a cleaner comes weekly, watering plants, and preparing the child’s backpack, lunch, and dance costume the night before for smooth mornings. Daily tasks involve keeping floors clean, maintaining the kitchen and bathrooms, and ensuring the child’s room is tidy.
Please note that our child has a speech impediment, so patience and comfort with children are essential. You'll also help maintain the home office, but you won’t be responsible for the pets.
Scheduling: You will need to schedule downtime, appointments, and days off on the family calendar, so being tech-savvy is important. Aim to schedule appointments during school hours. On Wednesdays and Fridays, you are free to manage your time until the child returns around 4:45 PM. We typically go on holiday for one month in the summer, and you can choose to either go home or travel with us. You will have off for all Cyprus holidays and any religious holidays needed. Please inform us of time-off requests 14 days in advance unless it’s an emergency.
Accommodations: You will have your own bedroom in our home, complete with a balcony, desk, dresser, and two floor-to-ceiling wardrobes. The home has two levels, 2.5 bathrooms, and four bedrooms (one of which serves as the office). Your assistance will be needed around the house, but you won’t need to help in the employer’s bedroom.
Typical Family Schedule:
Sunday: Day off for family time. We enjoy cooking and spending time together.
Monday: Child and one parent leave at 6:45 AM and return around 4:45 PM. You will tidy up, have a snack ready for the child, play with her until dinner, and help with the bedtime routine around 7 PM. The child typically sleeps between 8-9 PM.
Tuesday: Similar to Monday, but you’ll assist with dance class.
Wednesday & Friday: Same schedule as Monday.
Thursday: Similar to Tuesday.
Saturday: Child has soccer until 10 AM, and your assistance may be needed for family outings or activities.
If the parents have a busy season, we will compensate with extra time off and additional salary. Flexibility and communication are key, as this position is a partnership. We run our home like a business, addressing issues and concerns directly to ensure a smooth environment
