Very rare! Unique antique pair of figures of a young man and a girl in traditional national costumes of the mid-18th century, made in the form of candlesticks by the famous French brand Jacob Petit in the period 1796-1865.
A very beautiful and bright sculptural pair of candlesticks decorated with polychrome enamel with gilded accents.
Unusually realistic and exquisite sculptural pair of figures is made of magnificent glazed porcelain and decorated with overglaze hand painting.
Judging by the underglaze mark, which is carved on the bottom of each figurine J. P., the production dates back to 1796-1865.
Sculptural pair by the famous porcelain artist Jacob Petit, born Yakov Mordechai (1796 - 1868), worked as an artist at the porcelain factory in Sevres. In 1830 he acquired the factory in Fontainebleau and settled in Paris. Porcelain products of the Jacob Petit factory stand out for their unique style from porcelain of other manufactories. They have a rich, bright color palette and a recognizable underglaze stamp - the letters J. P.
