Risk management specialist

Our client is a service provider to financial services with offices in Larnaca, Cyprus. On their behalf, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join their team as a Risk Management Specialist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with their cryptocurrency operations.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and implement risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across various aspects of the company's operations.

Conduct risk assessments and analyses to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in the cryptocurrency market, regulatory environment, technology infrastructure, and business processes.

Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks in the cryptocurrency industry and assess their potential impact on the company.

Develop risk mitigation strategies and controls to address identified risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including compliance, legal, finance, and technology, to integrate risk management considerations into business processes and decision-making.

Implement risk monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track key risk indicators (KRIs) and provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Conduct training and awareness programs to educate employees about risk management principles, policies, and procedures.

Participate in audits, reviews, and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of risk management controls and processes and recommend improvements as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in finance, risk management, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA) preferred.

Proven experience in risk management roles, preferably in the cryptocurrency, financial services, or technology industry.

Deep understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and frameworks, with specific knowledge of risks inherent in the cryptocurrency market.

Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks relevant to the cryptocurrency industry, such as anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) regulations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex risk concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Proficiency in risk management software and tools is a plus.
