The RGA61AL is an RGA series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2019 and discontinued in 2022. The guitar was made in Indonesia as part of the metal focused Axion Label line.
The RGA61AL features a beautiful satin-finished flamed maple top on a sculpted nyatoh body, which creates a warm and deep mahogany-like sound profile. Bolt-on Nitro Wizard neck made of a combination of panga panga and walnut with a Macassar ebony fingerboard with 24 Sub Zero treated frets. Fret life is close to 100%. Other notable components include a Gibraltar Standard II fixed bridge, dual Bare Knuckle Aftermath humbucking pickups with coil-split capability and locking Gotoh tuning machines.
The guitar produces a versatile range of sound, although it was clearly designed to be an affordable and at the same time highly-specced modern metal machine. Takes lower tunings quite well although I haven’t used it below drop C.
Professionally set-up and intonated with fresh set of 10-46 Elixir strings in E standard.
