The most important thing about this smoke detector is the Built-In Air Compressor -because the air pump needs to pump regulated air inside (1psi) you can't use an outside compressor (e.g. a foot pump). Trust me on this one) - you can't do proper diagnosis with a foot pump or any other outside compressor. When smoke starts to enter engine your attention needs to be to the engine to see where it will come out, not to pumping smoke in)
