The CS1x capitalized on the trend of dance and trance music in the late 1990s and offers XG sounds in addition to AWM2 synthesis. It is possible to directly adjust the sound with rotary knobs on the front panel. There are two buttons with a freely assignable function, and you can use the scene function to create a transition between two sounds. There is a polyphony of 32 voices and an arpeggiator with 30 patterns.
The synthesizer has 128 preset sounds and 128 sounds that can be set by the user. In addition, there are 480 XG sounds. The instrument has 16 multitimbral channels, 12 channels via MIDI and 4 additional. The keyboard has 61 keys and is touch sensitive. The CS1x uses the same housing as the Yamaha CS2x and AN1x with the bevel angle.
Plastic is cracked on the back-left side (see photo), however it works perfectly!
