All plants [Vallisneria and Sagittaria plants excluded] have been grown in emersed set-ups. After submersion there is a conversion period during which emersed plants typically drop some of their old emersed leaves before growing new submersed leaves capable of absorbing carbon dioxide and other nutrients from the water. Submersed leaves are usually thinner, narrower, and more delicate in appearance. All plants are snail and algae free.
