1990 Jaguar XJ6 (XJ40)
Supplied new by Armitage Walker Ltd, Jaguar dealers of London in November 1990, this later model XJ40 generation of the XJ6 comes to us in appealing titanium grey and sits upon its original 15” steel wheels with Jaguar hubcaps and imperial tyres.
Under the bonnet, we find the 3.2-litre AJ6 24-valve straight-six petrol engine which developed 200bhp and 298NM of torque (replacing the old 2.9 litre engine from the earlier car) driving the rear wheels via four-speed ZF 4HP22 automatic transmission.
This example is a MY1990 face-lift example and as such features a more analogue dash than the earlier digital dash versions. Inside the typically comfortable and well-appointed cabin, we find beige leather/leatherette interior, walnut trim, on-board trip computer, electric windows, electric mirrors, original radio/cassette player, the heater controls (non-AC model) and electric sunroof.
The car has been in the same family ownership since 1994, and then imported in Cyprus, and shows 98,277 miles, although its not seen much recent use and presents well with only some typical sag to the rear of the headlining common to most older Jaguars and some wear to the front centre arm-rest top.
Registered in Cyprus as a classic car with a roadtax of 25 euro per year.
