The octopus uses its legs / tentacles for eating, moving, hunting, tasting and mating. Octopus are also masters of disguise and can alter their skin to take on different colours and textures to blend in with their surroundings. On each of the octopus' tentacles are suction cups which assist the animal to attach itself to surfaces. An octopus releases black ink when threatened by predators.
