Procurement manager
The Island Private School of Limassol is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to oversee all procurement activities related to our Strategic Construction project. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. This role requires strong negotiation skills, attention to details, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Location: Limassol, Agiou Fanouriou Street
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00-17.00.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet project objectives, including identifying potential suppliers, conducting market research, and analyzing supplier capabilities and offerings.
- Supplier Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts and terms, monitor supplier performance, and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise.
- Cost Management: Control project costs by obtaining competitive pricing, managing budgets, and implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or timelines.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all materials and equipment procured meet project specifications and quality standards, conducting inspections and quality checks as necessary.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to construction schedules and budgets.
- Tendering, Contract Management and Supplier’s performance: Organize and run tenders to select suppliers of materials and/or services. Review and administer contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, and handling contract modifications or renewals as needed. Monitor supplier’s performance.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines, and align procurement activities accordingly. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, invoices, other documentation and correspondence, ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, contract law, and relevant regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
